Celebrities Who Achieved Fame Later in Their Lives

You have probably heard the words “never give up” time and over again. This cliché is already worn out but with a good reason. You will never know if success is just around the corner for you. Understandably, you will feel disheartened at some point, especially when you are not seeing much progress with your work.

But before you call it quits, let’s take a look at these celebrities who never gave up on their dreams and eventually succeeded. You, too, can put major investments in your career and earn the fruits of your labor in the end.

J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling just got through a divorce and was barely making money to feed her little one back in 1994. While writing her book Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, she did not have any computer or even funds to photocopy her work. Instead, she typed every version before sending them to publishing houses. Bloomsbury was the only publishing house that picked it up because the CEO’s daughter fell in love with the story. From there, the rest was history.

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey has proven that he is one of the comedic greats of our time. But growing up, the actor had a tough time ever since his father’s passing. He continued taking on work to help his mom make ends meet to his credit. He also applied himself to learning how to become a comedian. By the time he was 16, Carrey had quit school to focus on his vision of being a comedian. He appeared in Saturday Night Live then starred in his own movie called Dumb and Dumber. Thanks to his brand of comedy, Carrey is one of the well-known names in Hollywood.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Growing up was tough for Sarah Jessica Parker. After her parents split when she was two and her mother re-marrying and having four more children, the family barely had enough food to eat. Parker took it upon herself to sing and dance to earn money to help at home. Her parents used their investment money to encourage their children’s love for the arts. Soon enough, Parker and her brother were cast in a play. Later on, Parker became known for her work in a hit HBO series.

Stephen King

Master of Horror Stephen King was a struggling artist at the start. He lived with his wife, Tabitha, in a trailer truck and took on multiple jobs to make ends meet. King continued to write despite the rejection letters he received. In fact, it took him 60 rejection letters before his first story, The Glass Floor, was picked up. The same thing happened with Carrie. King’s book did not break records at first, but today, it is one of the most popular stories in his collection. The King family has enough investments to keep them comfortable in the years to come.

Emily Blunt

Who would have thought that Emily Blunt was a shy little girl who stuttered when someone engaged her in a conversation? The actress had a hard time communicating growing up, but her teacher encouraged her to participate in plays. She even suggested that she try different accents. Needless to say, it worked! Blunt overcame her fear and is now one of the well-known names in Hollywood.

These celebrities did not give up on their dreams, no matter how difficult their situations were. We can learn a thing or two from them, especially when we are eager to find success in our chosen career path.
