KRISTY MCNICHOL | PROFESSOR

Kristy McNichol used to dominate both the big and small screens with her hit projects Littler Darlings, Only When I Laugh, and Empty Nest. She was also an award-winning actress, bringing home two Emmy Awards, credits to her role as Letitia “Buddy” Lawrence in the hit TV drama Family. However, despite the success, the now-59-year-old actress decided to leave the entertainment industry in 2001.

In a statement, she said she had retired from her acting career after 24 years in the business. She wanted to play the biggest role in her life, which was herself. Though many fans felt disappointed with her decision, McNichol stressed she made this major move for her happiness and well-being. She then taught acting at a private school in LA and devoted her time to charity work.
